They weren't made at an even x-number per year, so extrapolating your serial in that range isn't going to be exact. If the production was relatively linear then I'd guess 1928- ish. As for the serial number (located on the bottom of the grip on the frame) someone else will have to chime in. It looks to me like a standard 6" barrel K frame .38 Special. They are very popular and are priced according to location. Some places worth more than others. This is a Pre-model 17 K-22 Masterpiece. For old S&W 22's listing it as a model K-22 is adequate for the model number. It should have "Made in USA" or a 4 line trade mark stamp like this one, stamped on the right side over the trigger guard. With a S&W logo on the right or left side just in front of the grips.
